ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Under: the trip
Yesterday I got to hang out with Jesse almost for the whole day she took me to the everglades and then to a jazz club in downtown Miami. It was probably the most fun I have had while camping out in south Florida. Gators, vultures, turtles and catfish that crossed the road. Its true up until that point I never knew that catfish jumped from pond to pond via flopping across roadways. The Jazz club in Miami was amazing but proved to me how expensive Miami can be.
Today I started my drive north trying to get out of Florida before it sinks into the ocean. I no longer have the leisure of a GPS because eventually every expensive piece of electronic equipment needs to die so that the elitist companies like apple and tom-tom can find a way to continue to get your money. My thoughts on this are that when it dies it dies. Stop living in the need to have everything consumer market. You may ask your self how in the world did we get around with out a GPS in 1993, well kids its called a map, or the sun as a compass. What in the world did we do before we were able to download movies on our $3,000 apple notebook… oh yeah read a book, but now today we download our books too. Technology has made us needy and lazy, It actually upsets me. Well with that long rant all I wanted to say is that because I had no GPS I went on an extra long adventure. Today I missed my turn and I just kept going, when I had realized that I should have turned a while back I pulled over and got out a MAP. You know one of those things that only confused us with how to fold it back up, maps never ran out of battery power, maps never broke and they only cost around five dollars and when you read them you can talk in an accent if you want.
So now I sit here on a bed in a hotel room awaiting the redwings game. This is some of the fist TV I have watched in around a month now. It feels good mostly because I have read a lot more then I would have normally.
Tomorrow im going to try to drive all day long to get out of Florida and get just a little closer to Boston.
Grace and Peace,
Christopher

Have you ever wanted to do something so great, that the word adventure does not even begin to describe it? I want to change the world and I can’t do it from behind a desk or in one town, I must travel. I have a restless heart, a poets soul, an insatiable desire and a wanderers spirit.
I will set off at the end of April 2009 on a journey of my life time. My ultimate mission of this journey is to change the world, even if it may be just a little change. I will be 28 with only the road ahead of me and my scooter driving me on. I don’t have a set plan on how I will achieve my mission, but I believe that the basics of making the world a better place is loving your fellow man like you would want to be loved, giving help to the people that you can help and striving to help the ones out of reach.
Scooter Diaries is a mission, a story and my journal. In this website you will read about my journey and the people I meet along the way I’ll post photos and videos of all sorts of people and places. We all have our own lives to live and we all have our hard times. I hope that we can meet someday and I get to hear your story.
