No internet available last night so sorry for the lack of stories, well it was Georgia so there was not much anyway. Last night however I did pull into town and some cop stopped me for what he said was he just did not see my tags. I just think he wanted to find a reason to give me a ticket for being in his town. The camp ground was great and yeah my only complaint was that the internet signal did not reach my tent. Today I feel, kinda sucks. Only because its just one of those days when I feel... I am done with Atlanta. Just driving through it was enough for me to say that this is a city I will never want anything to do with. So without going into to much detail im just going to generalize a whole city and say “dicks”… OK now that’s over with, thanks to my sister I am staying in a cabin tonight. The weather was calling for rain all day but just like in Michigan the weather man is never right. So thanks to our inaccurate weather I got to work on my farmers tan during my scoot ... TOM WAITS “RAIN DOGS” "Inside a broken clock Splashing the wine With all the Rain Dogs Taxi, we'd rather walk. Huddle a doorway with the Rain Dogs For i am a Rain Dog, too.
Oh, how we danced and we swallowed the night For it was all ripe for dreamin Oh, how we danced away All of the lights We've always been out of our minds.
The Rum pours strong and thin Beat out the dustman With the Rain Dogs Aboard a shipwreck train Give my umbrella to the Rain Dogs For I am a Rain Dog, too.
Oh, how we danced with the Ros... Continue reading ...

I am sitting oh so comfortably on a couch in a quiet Nashville home and loving every second of it. So this chapter starts with me waking up in a freezing ice box of a tent at 6am. I roll over and eat the rest of my left over pizza from the night before do a few complaints to my self about how cold it is out side and then quickly put my clothing on. The night before I remembered that the bathroom had a few funny things about it and I needed to so badly get a photo of it… I think the photo t... Continue reading ...
Day 2 Can This City Go Any More Crazy Over Horses?

So I have made it All the way to Louisville KY and it may be just because the world series of horse races just happened or it could be that this city just loves hoses but there are bushes carved out to look like a horse the front desk of this camp ground had a whole wall of past winners framed up, like they were autographed celebrity photos at a cheesy Chinese restaurant. So yeah there is not much else I can say about this city other than THEY MAKE BASEBALL BATS! I do want to make it out to... Continue reading ...

All my bags got packed and I rode off into the freezing morning air. It was a very cold 35 degrees out this morning when I set out at 7:30am. Saying goodbye to my family was hard, I want them to know that ill be safe and I will truly enjoy my self. I made it into a KOA campground at 8pm tonight (12&1/2hrs on my scooter) I was going to set up a tent but thought better of it, Its going to be just as cold tonight as it was this morning. So I did the logical thing and rented a cabin and yes its... Continue reading ...

About Me & Scooter Diaries
| Christopher Burks |
| Grand Rapids Mi |
Have you ever wanted to do something so great, that the word adventure does not even begin to describe it? I want to change the world and I can’t do it from behind a desk or in one town, I must travel. I have a restless heart, a poets soul, an insatiable desire and a wanderers spirit.
I will set off at the end of April 2009 on a journey of my life time. My ultimate mission of this journey is to change the world, even if it may be just a little change. I will be 28 with only the road ahead of me and my scooter driving me on. I don’t have a set plan on how I will achieve my mission, but I believe that the basics of making the world a better place is loving your fellow man like you would want to be loved, giving help to the people that you can help and striving to help the ones out of reach.
Scooter Diaries is a mission, a story and my journal. In this website you will read about my journey and the people I meet along the way I’ll post photos and videos of all sorts of people and places. We all have our own lives to live and we all have our hard times. I hope that we can meet someday and I get to hear your story.
